Innovative Use of Data

Data is a key component to understanding how to support students in getting TO and THROUGH college. UFCS is building off of the Texas statewide network, to continue increasing the impact of various initiatives, that help our students in areas of social justice, equity, and college persistence. UFCS continues to build on the ideology that secondary education institutions should be responsible for the success of their students beyond high school. As a direct result of the efforts displayed by UFCS, the conversation for a need to design an effective tracking system for students through college is becoming actionable.

Real-time data is a critical piece of this vision to enable data-driven insights and an improved student experience. On a national level, there have been innovative ways to effectively track data, analyze student academic behavior, and predict outcomes. Through integration of data, including student demographics, admissions, academic performance and more, some universities are able to develop a “360-degree” profile of their students and build intervention and support programs around their specific needs. UFCS has begun looking into ways to tap into this type of resource as we begin to build partnerships with Higher Education institutes.
